If you’re a spice lover and are after a stylish restaurant providing comfortable dining, in an intimate and warm surrounding Hisar is perfect. Following their success in Orpington and Dulwich, the Turkish / Mediterranean restaurant expanded its food into Beckenham back in 2014 and opened up on the High Street. Their show-stopping dishes include Lamb Beyti, Tavuk Shish and Pirzola. With plenty of cocktails on offer too, Hisar is ideal for a night celebrating with friends and loved ones.

Using only the prime cuts of local beef all of which is selected, and hand cut by Donald Russell from cattle fed on a natural, grass-based diet and reared in happy surroundings. Chai Naasto – Said to be the best Street Food inspired Indian restaurant in the area Chai Naasto started as a labour of love. The owners; three brothers, hoped to share their Nani’s food with the world and they have achieved much more than that. With a menu jammed packed with dishes with exquisite tastes, textures and fragrances and colourful décor which is bound to cheer you up the restaurant located on Fairfield Road in Beckenham is one not to be missed.

Beckenham Palace Mansion –  sees the pop-up Catford Arts Exhibition arrive on Friday 12th April. The free exhibition lasts for three days and is set to showcase the work of around 20 local creatives. The exhibition aims to recognise, celebrate and provide a platform for the brilliant artistic talent that lies in and around London SE6.

If you want to keep the kids entertained…

The Glades’ Shopping Centre – is only a short ride away in Bromley and boasts a substantial number of stores and eateries. Plus, if you take the kids there on the 9th – 11th and 13th April, face painting and fun activities will be happening in their pop-up English country garden.

Things to do in Beckenham this Christmas

Fancy a festive day out with family and friends? Celebrate the best of handmade and artisan products from local and independent traders.
With more than 50 handpicked independent traders from all over London including: handmade gifts, jewellery, artists, and street food.
There will be music to help you get into the festive spirit and a number of workshops, including kids’ cookery and Christmas stocking making.
Plus, enter a prize draw to be in with a chance of winning a baking session in your own home with Beckenham’s very own Great British Bake Off star, Jane Beedle. All proceeds will go to support Demelza House Children’s Hospice.

So Last Century – Vintage Christmas

Where? The Mansion Beckenham Place Park, Lewisham, Beckenham
When? December 10th, 10am – 4pm

So Last Century is back again on 10th December 2017 for a special vintage Christmas market at The Mansion.

There’ll be a hand-picked, festive selection of around 20 top-notch local vintage traders on the ground floor in the Drawing Room, Atrium and Music Room with a huge selection of unique and personal gift ideas and essentials for the holiday season.

Expect to find a range of mid-century decor, lighting and homeware, furnishings, antique and vintage maps, medical drawings, brocante, clothing, accessories, jewellery, prints and much more.

Outside will be food and drink, including wood-fired pizza by Sapore Vero, locally brewed beer provided by Three Hounds Beer Company, mulled wine, and bottles of English wine to sample and buy, from Tenterden’s Harbourne Vineyard and amazing coffee by Dungarees.

The Mansion cafe will also be open, serving snacks plus hot and cold drinks.

Five-piece band The Coppergills and The Crooked Cranes, from Brockley, will be providing live music, adding to the seasonal atmosphere.

Pick up your Christmas tree, wreathes, garlands and other seasonal essentials from Branching Out, who will be based at the Mansion every December weekend until Christmas.
Splattermake craft and sewing school will be holding a ‘Make a soft toy angel’ workshop on the day as well as running similar, festive-themed craft workshops in their studio at the Mansion throughout the whole of December.

There will be music to help you get into the festive spirit and a number of workshops, including kids’ cookery and Christmas stocking making.
Little ones can have crafting fun at an Elves Workshop and then meet Santa in his grotto to tell him their wish for Christmas. Run by Splatter Make, the workshop and grotto is suitable for 5 years+ (under 4s accompanied by an adult) and costs £12 for the workshop and Santa’s gift. There are also limited spaces for younger siblings under 3 to just visit Santa for £6. Bookings are every half an hour.
